Sexual orientation should not be determined at birth. It is the person's choice to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, and Queer (LGBTQ). The way they grow up effects their sexuality. It is not proven that there is a gene for being LGBTQ. Procon.org says “There is no support in the scientific research for the conclusion that homosexuality is biologically determined." It all depends on experiences you have that determine your sexuality. If your parents are LGBTQ then there may be a bigger chance you might be too because of the way you grew up. They influence the way you are when you get older. However, just because they influence you, it does not mean you cannot be your own person. If someone’s parents are straight there is still a chance that they can turn out gay. Procon.org also says that "There is not any evidence that shows that homosexuality is 'genetic', and none of the research itself claims there is.” This proves that even scientists have proven there is no genetics involved in being LGBTQ.
There is no reason why someone should not have the choice to do what they want. If they want to be part of the LGBTQ community, then their family and friends should be accepting in that, instead of determining their sexual orientation at birth. Everyone has the choice to be whatever sexuality they would like and that cannot be taken away from them.
