Advantages of wearing a Backpack
We get to go to school, get on the bus, and go home with our backpacks. We keep them nice and organized and we should be able to wear them to our classes. Backpacks are not only an efficient way to carry you supplies, but also a good way to keep organized and ready for all your classes. Even if you have a locker that never jams and is close to all your classes, it is still a more efficient way to be prepared for your classes. James, Peyton. "Pros and Cons of Having Backpacks in School." Knight Errant. Http://bsmknighterrant.org/, 20 Jan. 2016. Web. 19 Jan. 2017. says “Since students would have extra time that is usually spent on traveling to their locker, they would be less likely to be late to class” Students do not have to carry their backpacks if they do not find it useful. Don’t think they should be able to decide weather or not to wear a backpack. In middle school, students are preparing for high school and we should be able to have some of the freedoms we have in high school to help us prepare. The use of backpacks would solve many problems but it would also cause some problems as well.
The Disadvantages
Some problems may occur if all students bring their backpacks to class. Students could be carrying drugs or weapons in their backpacks. If a student is going to bring a weapon, then they are going to bring a weapon. You cannot stop them by not letting them bring backpacks to
class. If they are going to break the rules and bring a weapon they will not care if they are breaking the rules by bringing a backpack to class. Back packs can also be a fire hazard said my school principal Mr. Williams. He said “When I first started here almost all the students brought their backpacks to class. The class room floors were crowded and it was a fire hazard as well as a tripping hazard" (Williams 2017) Mr. Williams is right and it would be a tripping hazard as well as a fire hazard unless the students put their backpacks under their desks. Then the students would have all their materials handy and could get to them easily. If we put all our binders in the way, it would be a tripping hazard anyways.
