According to Sarah Kaufman, in 2013, 2,979 people were scheduled on death row, 39 were executed, and 31 died of natural causes, suicide or murder by another inmate, and most of the people on the death row caused major crimes? The death penalty can be a serious thing when it comes to what criminal you are dealing with. Ever US state should have the death penalty legalized.
The death penalty should be used in some cases. For example, if there was a terrorist planning to blanket the United States with 20 MK IV Fat Man nukes, that’s when we should give them a death penalty or if there was a mass shooting. If there is a store robbery, or a house robbery, or a hit and run, there should be a consequence, but not as serious as a death penalty. According to Death Penalty Information Center, studies show that around 63 people a year are killed because of the death penalty. This is not a lot. In 2016, there were 16 states that said that the death penalty was illegal, and if you think about how many shootings you hear while you are watching the news or how many terrorist attacks that happen or at least almost happen, you hear a lot. Everyone who has done something threatening to our country should be sentenced to a death penalty, because even if we give them a 99 sentence prison time and put them into the most advanced security prison in the world, they can still find a way to get out somehow. Also, if you put them in prison for 99 years they can hurt other inmates and hurt other guards which isn't worth taking the risk. Not only death penalty is safer for our guards, but it is safer for our country in general because if we have a person known for mass shootings, or a terrorist that wants to blow up the country, we don't have to worry about them because they are not alive. It turns out that over 600 prisoners have escaped from prisons, that is 600 people that can tear this country down to pieces, and we don't want that to happen. We should have criminals that have done crimes that will have our country in fear receive a death penalty.
The death penalty should be put into place for every state because if someone terrible goes into a school or a terrorist creates an attack that threatens our country, that states prison can send them do a death penalty. In conclusion, the death penalty should be legalized in every state because it will make our country safer and it will keep the bad criminals out of our worries.
