The concept behind the safeness of cell phones is debatable. Some people think that cell phone radiation is affecting people in a bad way; others think they are the things of the future.
The people that say cell phones are safe conclude that phone use is not associated with an increased risk of brain tumors or other health problems. The people that say cell phones are not safe cite studies showing an association between cell phone use and tumor growth. In an October 20 2011 Danish study, the largest study of its kind to date shows no association between cell phone use and brain tumors. In another Swedish study, there was evidence to show that there was no such cell phone radiation that could ionize to cause cancer. Manufactures of other cell phones must test their products to be sure that their radiation levels meet the standards for safety set by the Federal Communications Commission.
Cell phones have been shown to increase personal safety. For example, if you were in a car accident, you would need to call someone for help. However, recent studies have shown that there is an increase in developing glioma, which is a type of brain tumor linked to holding a phone to your ear.
In a 2012 study on rats and mice, the radiation cell phones were shown to alter the genetic material in cells and could lead to cancer. Young children were shown to have a higher risk of absorbing radiation because their skulls are not as thick as adults. We know that the use of cell phones while driving increases the percent of car crashes. Some people think it's as bad as drinking while driving.
