Gaming has many benefits that can help the younger generation. It can teach social skills, and much more. People have studied how gaming affects children’s brains. There are even video game collages. The definition of gaming is playing of games developed to teach something or to help solve a problem, as in military or business situation.
There are multiple reasons why gaming is good for the younger generation. One reason is it helps with hand eye coordination. “Regular video game play can increase your child's dexterity, which is very useful for performing day-to-day activities, work functions and playing sports. There are numerous exercises that can be performed to improve your child's hand-eye coordination, but most of them aren't as appealing and rewarding to your child as playing a video game.” (symptomfind) this citation supports that its good for hand eye coordination by saying that kids want to play video games so they will do it unlike homework or boring school work.
Gaming can also help with social skills through online. While playing online there is voice chats that let people talk to one another while playing. “A lack of social skills and the ability to interact with others on a regular basis can be detrimental to a child's development and can even lead to depression. Children who are shy and lack confidence when socializing with their peers may have an easier time opening up while playing video games.” This means that while kids play the games they can interact with complete strangers and build up social skills.
Stress release and team work are a reason gaming is good for kids and school. Think about it most kids get stressed because of school so games can help them calm down after school. Also in most online games its teams against teams and they need to talk and work together to make a strategy that will help them win. Therefore, it can help them build team skills that will help them later on a project.
Therefore, a gaming team would be good for the students. It would lower the amount of stress, build team working skills, hand eye coordination. Also some schools give scholarships out for gaming. If you look at most pro-gamers they drop out of high school and collage most around the age of 16 to 17 because they don’t have a chance to earn one. Also the amount of people that watch gaming competitions is about 111m in 2015 and the amount of people that watched the super bowl was 114.4 million and those number are most likely rising. If more schools had gaming clubs, there would be a chance that the amount of drop outs that go into pro-gaming would lower.
